IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE 2017 SNOWDONIA ETAPE ERYRI
After reviewing the most up to date weather information, we have taken the decision to amend the routes accordingly to enable the safest and most enjoyable experience bearing in mind the forecasted conditions.
Etape Xtrem Riders will complete ONE lap of the Canol route (75 miles), followed by THREE laps of the Bach route (46 miles per lap), starting at 03:45. There will be a strict cutoff of 18:00 hours on the Maes at Caernarfon for Xtrem riders after which they will be unable to complete the last lap of the Bach route. This route is now approx. 213 miles.
Mawr Route Riders will start at 07:00 hours and will complete ONE lap of the Canol route (75 miles) followed by ONE lap (46 miles) of the Bach route. There will be a strict cut-off of 08:30 hours at Pen y Gwryd, after which, Mawr riders will be directed onto the Bach route. Mawr Riders completing their Canol lap after 13:00 will not be allowed to continue onto the final Bach lap. This route is now approx 121 miles.
Canol Route Riders will complete the Canol loop with a new start time of between 07:00 and 07:30 hours. Once again, there will be a strict cutoff at Pen y Gwryd at 08:30 hours after which time, you will be directed onto the Bach route.
Bach Route Riders will complete ONE lap of the Bach route as usual. However, there will be a new earlier start time of between 08:00 and 08:30 hours.
We strongly advise AGAINST the use of deep section wheels and disc wheels are not allowed.
Etape Teulu - regretfully, due to the forecasted conditions, the Etape Teulu ride will not go ahead.
