Route Description

The Anglesey Trail Half Marathon is set in the beautiful surroundings of Newborough Forest, Anglesey. The course takes you through the trees onto the stunning Llanddwyn Island and onwards to beautiful winding woodland trails which once hosted the Commonwealth Mountain and Ultra Distance Running Championships. You’ll catch glimpses of the Llyn Peninsula and the mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia) amongst other incredible views. With loads of single track forest trails, quiet forest views and sandy running trails, there is something for everyone in this race. The course loops round to bring runners back to where they started and a hero's welcome from the spectators on the finish line.

Important Information

Age

You must be at least 18 years old to take part in this race.

Registration

You will need to collect your bib (race number) on the morning of the race. Registration will open 1 hour prior to your race start and can be found near the car park. You will be able to find the detailed Final Instructions on the website 10 days prior to the race.

Entries will not be taken on the day.

Start Time

The Half Marathon usually starts at 09:00 though this is subject to change. The race start time will be confirmed in your Final Instructions which are available to view on the website 10 days prior to the race. The race starts away from the main car park, it will be signposted.

Cut Off Times

In the interest of athlete safety and the safety of our volunteers on the course there will be strict cut off times in place.

You have a total of 3 hours to complete your race.

Prizes

We hold a prize giving ceremony after the racing, approximate timings will be detailed in the Final Instructions however it is a good idea to listen out for information on any updates that come in over the tannoy. Sometimes the ceremony may be delayed and we wouldn't want you to miss out. We don't send out prizes after the event, so make sure you attend the ceremony and receive your big Welsh cheer!
