Duathlon | Harlech 2021
Harlech 2021 Duathlon Sprint
The Sprint Duathlon begins with a 5km run including a stunning but challenging section along the beach, followed by a beautiful 21.5km cycle and a final 2.2km run to the famous ‘Storm the Castle” finish.
Starting near the beach and running down the side of the transition under the shadow of the castle, the first run takes you across the beautiful dunes and along the Harlech beach. Coming off the beach, you head in to transition so you can take on the bike.
Exiting transition on your bike and shooting out towards Ynys on the flat and fast coast road, you turn up towards the Castle and enter the closed road section of this exciting route. Pushing your legs to the max as you climb the hill towards Harlech, you can try and admire the impressive view, or just wait until you reach the turn-around point and watch it all rush by on the way back down. It's a simple out and back route and you will soon be back in transition ready for the final run.
Leaving transition in reverse and heading to the lower streets of Harlech, you have one final challenge left, the piece de resistance; you must now run up the 108 steps, Storm The Castle and receive the glory you deserve for completing this fantastic race.
In line with British Triathlon Federation rules you must be at least 15 years old to take part in this race.
