Quarryman 2022 Trail Running 5K
The 5km Quarryman route oozes atmosphere as you run through the moody surroundings passing the relics of tunnels, terraces, inclined planes and abandoned machinery. There is no other run where history and industrial archeology meet such incredible views with the outlook stretching down to the lakes and across to Snowdon.
This is not your average 5km! Before you even get the first Kilometre under your belt you are faced with a steep climb up the infamous 'zig-zags' as you make your way up a slate mountain. It’s tough on the legs and lungs but it's worth it for the incredible views. Moving on through ancient forest trails you finally reach the top of the main climb to emerge victorious at the top of the famous Vivian Quarry. With a couple of exciting steep descents and loads of quarry history and industrial relics to run past, you’ll have loads to motivate you as you push on to complete this stunning race. Run past the Old Quarry Hospital and onto the finish stretch where you can let your legs go and sprint for the finish.
You must be at least 15 years old to take part in this race.
