Covid-19

The safety of all who attend our events is our utmost priority, please go to our Covid-19 page to see the most up to date information on how we will be delivering a covid secure event in the community. Please note that all timings below are subject to change.

The Sandman Duathlon (Run, Cycle, Run) is run alongside the Triathlon (Swim, Cycle, Run).

Timings

Saturday

The first race 08:30, athletes arriving from 07:00. The last race is expected to end at 14:25, event village closes at 14:30.

Sunday

The first race 09:15, athletes arriving from 07:00. The last race is expected to end at 17:10 and the event village closes at 17:30.


Road closures

In order to give athletes the best and safest experience, the access to the main beach car park will be closed off from 07:45 until 14:30 on Saturday and 07:00 until 14:15 on Sunday. There will also be traffic management on the main road to assist with the bikes crossing safely.

Spectating

Event Village – This will be located in the beach car park in Newborough Forest, alongside transition. It is a beautiful location where the whole family can enjoy all the race action along with live commentary, and local hot and cold food and drinks sellers.

Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) is the fastest-growing water-sports activity on the planet and can be done on flat water, the open ocean, rivers, and of course in the surf! Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied (i.e. booked on the session) by a parent or guardian, who will have sole responsibility for their safety and welfare

WHAT'S INCLUDED:

Paddleboard, paddle, leash, and buoyancy aid. If you have your own then please feel free to bring that with you instead.
If you need to wear glasses or sunglasses, we recommend you bring with you & use a floating retaining strap.
All our kit, including buoyancy aids, boards, paddles are cleaned before and after each session.

CHANGING:

Please bring with you everything you might need to get changed either on the beach or at the car park.

  • £20 for a 1-hour taster session, with WSA/BCU qualified instructor present
  • Maximum 6 participants in the water.
  • Minimum age 12 and anyone between 12 and 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
  • In between each one-hour session we will have 1-hour break to clean any boards/paddles down
  • All participants must provide their own sportswear or wetsuits to wear on the paddleboard/in the water.
  • We will provide: Paddle Board, Paddle, Buoyancy Aid and supervision

  • 10am - 11am taster session

Getting Involved

We are always on the lookout for people to join our awesome team of Marshals and Volunteers and it is a great way to raise funds for your local community group or charity. If you are a local business and have offers over the event weekend please contact us so we can include you in our communications with our athletes. There are also opportunities for stands in our Event Village.

Signage and Litter

All our signage is removed immediately after the event and we conduct a full litter pick as stated in our environmental policy. We will respond to any reports of left signage or litter immediately so in the unlikely event of this please contact us.
