Weston Park 2023 Triathlon Super-Sprint (World Championship Qualifier)
We are thrilled that The Weston Park Super Sprint Distance Triathlon has been awarded the World Triathlon Age Group Qualifier
This will be your chance to prove yourself amongst the splendour of the magnificent parkland and gain your place on the GB Age-Group Team for the Super Sprint Distance Triathlon.
This race entry is open to all British Triathlon Members.
In order to qualify for the Championship race, athletes must register their intent to qualify by 5pm on the Friday before the qualifying race (12th May). Please click here to register your intent to qualify.
THIS IS A NON-DRAFTING RACE
Beginning with a 400m single looped swim in a Lake, surrounded by greenery and bird life. Exit the water and make your way across open parkland to transition for the first time.
Head out on your bike for 2 laps of our speedy closed roads course. Take the time to look and you won’t miss some of the natural flora and fauna on offer as you exit the estate. Take a sharp left and think sprint speed for 1.5km, then it’s another sharp left back into the estate for stretches of tree lined roads. You’ll navigate past grand estate buildings before spotting transition.
With your running shoes on you’ll feel the full charm of the Weston Park estate. The route will send you running through a 2.5km loop of beautiful open parkland, taking in the views of the Weston Park house.
In line with British Triathlon Federation rules you must be at least 15 years old to take part in this race.
Registration for the Super Sprint Triathlon will take place on the morning f the event. It is likely to be located in the event village. Specific distances will have specific registration times. Confirmed timings will be detailed in your final instructions. These are emailed to athletes 10 days prior to the race, and they’ll also be available on our website, 10 days prior to.
Wave Start Times
The first wave usually starts at 12:00. Confirmed timings will be detailed in your Final Instructions which will be available on the website and via email 10 days prior to the race.
Waves are allocated using the estimated finish time on your entry.
You'll be able to find out which wave you're in by logging onto the Live Tracker app ahead of the race. Details of this will be emailed to you along with the Final Instructions.
Transition will only be open for racking during a specific time on the day of the event. It will close no later than 15 minutes before the first wave starts. You may not enter transition for any reason after the allocated closing time.
Equipment left in transition after the event is finished will be removed and its security cannot be guaranteed.
Cut Off Times
In the interest of athlete safety and the safety of our volunteers on the course, there will be strict cut-off times in place.
You have 25 minutes to complete your swim and exit transition.
You have 1hr to complete your bike and exit transition.
You have 30mins to complete your run.
Timings are subject to change. Confirmed timings will be detailed in your final instructions. These are emailed to athletes 10 days prior to the race, and they’ll also be available 10 days prior to the race on our website.
