Your first run takes in the full charm of the Weston Park estate. Starting under the finish arch, you’ll run across 200m of open parkland before darting into an impressive woodland garden. Prepare to feel small and insignificant as you run past giant trees before the view opens up as you race around a lake. A quick dash out of the woodland brings you alongside the bike route, where you’ll run across open parkland towards transition.
Head out on your bike for 4 laps of our speedy closed roads course. Take the time to look and you won’t miss some of the natural flora and fauna on offer as you exit the estate. Take a sharp left and think sprint speed for 1.5km, then it’s another sharp left back into the estate for stretches of tree lined roads. You’ll navigate past grand estate buildings before spotting transition. With four laps of the route, you can expect each one to be faster as it becomes more familiar.
Put your running shoes back on for a second chance to see the impressive gardens of the estate. You’ll run through open parkland alongside the bike loop, before turning into the woodland garden. Race 180degrees back around a flawless lake before darting around paths dwarfed once again by ancient trees. You’ll pop out the woodland to impressive views of the Weston Park house and the finish line only 200m away. Don’t get drawn in though, as you’re off for a second loop before your sprint finish line 200m dash!
