Entries for the 2018 Odlo Coed y Brenin Trail Duathlon are now open.
The duathlon, which is organised by North Wales events specialists Always Aim High, will take place at the slightly early date of Sunday 4th November and features everything that has come to be expected of events of theirs such as the Pedalcover Slateman Triathlon and the SCOTT Snowdonia Trail Marathon.
The Odlo Coed y Brenin Trail Duathlon is made up of both a Sprint and Full course, both featuring miles and miles of world famous Coed y Brenin tracks and trails with the cycle track roughly following the tough ‘Tarw Du’ mountain bike course.
In 2017, the full race was won by Doug Hall in a time of 02:20:45, while the sprint race was won by Tom Nesham in a time of 01:08:48.
Nearly 300 competitors took part in the inaugural event at Coed y Brenin Forest Park back in November with that number set increase significantly with the race being named as a Welsh Triathlon National Championship event in 2018.
Coed y Brenin was the first forest to be developed for the sport of mountain biking and to this day retains its reputation as the sports premier location. A range of routes suitable for everyone from families and novices to rocky technical trails for expert riders radiate out from the stunning state of the art eco visitor centre.
