Entries Open for the Brand New Coed y Brenin Trail Duathlon
Entries for the first ever Trail Duathlon at Coed y Brenin Forest Park are now open. Organised by Always Aim High Events and taking place on Sunday 12th November, the Duathlon will be the only one of its kind in North Wales - an entirely off road trail race.
Incorporating some of the finest trails the world renowned forest park has to offer, the Duathlon consists of a challenging mountain bike course, sandwiched between two trail running routes of varying distance and difficulty. The Trail Duathlon is the perfect opportunity to experience these famous running and biking trails in one unforgettable race.
Two routes will be available to individuals or teams, the longer distance ‘full’ route, and the smaller ‘sprint’. The challenging full distance of the Duathlon consists of a 9km run, 28km bike and is rounded off with a 5km run to the finish.
A 5km run, 15km bike and a 1.8km run makes up the smaller sprint distance of the Duathlon.
Tim Lloyd, Director at Always Aim High Events said: “We are super excited to be delivering a brand new trail duathlon at Coed y Brenin. Our close working with colleagues at Natural Resources Wales will ensure that the event will be on the best trails possible in the UK, with the trail centre recently having been voted the UK’s number 1.”
“The event is in response to feedback from the tri and trail running community who have been requesting a new trail duathlon, it is our pleasure to do so in the beautiful Welsh heartland, and with a sprint and full distance option will be attractive to all abilities from novice to pro!”
Featuring a unique mix of steep climbs, rewarding descents and stunning views, the inaugural Coed y Brenin Trail Duathlon promises to excite athletes of all abilities.
North Wales based event organisers Always Aim High already host the award winning Slateman Triathlon and Snowdonia Trail Marathon amongst others on their calendar, and expect the Coed y Brenin Trail Duathlon to have the same quality and atmosphere as these epic and sporting events.
