Start your Eryri weekend with the Snowdonia Trail Eryri 10K, a scenic and fully supported trail run through the stunning landscapes around Llanberis. With a course designed for runners to enjoy the trails at their own pace, the 10K is the perfect introduction to the weekend’s adventures.

After the run, the lively event village is the place to relax, refuel, and soak up the atmosphere, with plenty of food, entertainment, and opportunities to connect with fellow runners. Take time to explore the charming village of Llanberis, set at the foot of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), and enjoy the dramatic scenery of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. Whether you’re aiming for a personal best or just a fun trail experience, the 10K gives you a taste of the weekend action while leaving Sunday free to cheer on friends tackling the longer distances.

Route Description

Starting and finishing in Llanberis, the Trail 10K Eryri packs a huge amount of mountain running into a compact course.

The route quickly leaves the village behind and climbs onto the trails and hillsides surrounding Llanberis, where runners are rewarded with sweeping views across the valley, the surrounding mountains, and the unmistakable landscape of Eryri. A varied mixture of trail, track, climbing and descending keeps the course interesting throughout, with around 400m of ascent packed into 10km.

From around 6.5km, the route enters the spectacular Dinorwig Quarry, part of the Slate Landscape of Northwest Wales UNESCO World Heritage Site. Runners weave through a remarkable landscape shaped by generations of slate quarrying, with towering quarry faces, historic workings, and the mountains of Eryri providing an extraordinary backdrop to the closing stages of the race.

Two on-course support points also break up the journey before runners make their way back towards the atmosphere of the event village and finish line.

Accessible enough to be a first taste of mountain running, but challenging enough to demand respect, the Trail 10K Eryri is a short race with a big mountain feel, combining spectacular natural scenery with one of North Wales' most important historic landscapes.

Important Information

Age

You must be at least 17 years old to take part in this race.

Registration

If you opted for a postal entry, there is no need to register in person before the event. Your Final Instructions will be emailed to you, and they will also be available on the website 10 days before the race.

If your bib is not being posted, you will need to collect it from registration. Registration will take place before the race on Saturday morning. We will confirm specific times in your Final Instructions.

Registration is usually located in the event field in Llanberis, situated next to the Community Centre - LL55 4UR

Cut-Off Times

You have 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete your race.

Feed Stations

Water and High 5 energy drinks and gels will be available at 2 miles/3.2km and 4 miles/ 6.4km. Please note that our races are cupless, meaning you must provide a reusable race cup or bottle to fill at feed stations. Race cups are available at the event shop in the event village.

Random kit checks will take place. You must be prepared to show that you are carrying the full mandatory kit when requested by one of our team. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

ADDITIONAL ADVISORY KIT:

Suntan lotion (factor 30 minimum)
We strongly recommend participants bring a sun hat or cap.

Prizes

We hold a prize-giving ceremony after the racing, approximate timings will be detailed in the Final Instructions however it is a good idea to listen out for information on any updates that come in over the tannoy. Sometimes the ceremony may be delayed and we wouldn't want you to miss out. We don't send out prizes after the event, so make sure you attend the ceremony and receive your big Welsh cheer!
