Always Aim High Events Return to Their Llanberis Roots

Published: 21.06.2021

Always Aim High Events was established back in 2010 and had its first office at the Caban located in Brynrefail, we are now excited to announce we will be returning to our roots in Snowdonia. The events company which hosts some of the finest Triathlons, Cycling and Running events in the UK, has just signed an agreement with Gwynedd council to develop an Events Hub at the Glyn Rhonwy site in Llanberis.

The following press release has been seen across the local media, and we wanted to share it with our wider audience too!

Tim Lloyd, Always Aim High Events Managing Director, said “Llanberis is known internationally as the outdoor adventure capital of Wales and the UK. We are immensely proud of our Welsh heritage and to be returning to Llanberis is so exciting. Having grown up as part of the local community I know how important it is that we are a local outdoor business with core values that put the environment, culture and language at the heart of all we do. We are looking forward to playing our part in shaping and driving forward existing and new and exciting events in partnership with our friends within this special part of Wales.”

The company are currently based in Llangefni, Anglesey, and see this initiative as a new addition as a part of a longer-term strategy to expand across North West Wales. Their aim is to provide local highly skilled jobs and upskilling opportunities for all those who choose to be involved in this healthy, safe and exciting outdoor sector.

Tim went on to say that, “despite us having to postpone a number of our key events yet again this year, we see that there is an opportunity to make use of this time to put the Welsh events sector in a position to return strongly once it is safe to do so. Being one of the safest sectors operating in the outdoors we are working closely with the local community, local authority and Welsh Government to return as soon as we can”

Councillor Gareth Thomas, Gwynedd Council Cabinet Member for Economic Development said:

“This is an exciting development, and we are delighted to see Always Aim High locating to a site in Glyn Rhonwy.

“It has been a very difficult period for companies in the outdoor activity sector, and we are grateful to Always Aim High and other Gwynedd businesses who have put the safety of our residents first over the past year or so.

“Their decision to establish a base at Glyn Rhonwy in Llanberis is an important milestone and we look forward to working with Always Aim High as they develop their exciting plans for the future.”

Work will begin at the site as part of a multi-year programme to develop the hub to its full potential.
