Cancer Survivor Mark Bryant goes from Terminal to Triathlon to Raise Funds for The Christie Hospital
After taking ill following a business trip in June 2015, Mark Bryant, then aged 37, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. The news came as a terrible shock at the time to him, his wife Fiona and their two small children. Several months later in the September of that year Mark underwent an intense stem cell transplant at The Christie Hospital in Manchester, receiving his brother Adam’s stem cells and involving high dose chemotherapy and full body radiotherapy. Sadly just 6 months later Mark received the news that every cancer patient dreads, the cancer had returned and he had just 6 months left to live.
The Christie have been an integral part of the team that have helped Mark’s recovery, enabling him to enjoy his life and family. He now wants to spread the word about how to achieve good health in the true sense. He will take part in this ambitious coastal triathlon to raise funds for the hospital as a way of saying thank you for their great care and support.
Since his diagnosis and initial treatment Mark has dedicated his life to taking control of his own health and has undergone a life transformation. He has now created The Energise Academy and hopes to inspire other hard-working entrepreneurs to get healthy, to manage their stress levels and improve their quality of life whilst being successful.
The 2018 Superfeet Sandman Triathlon will take place on 22nd September set in 700 hectares of woodland in Newborough Forest, adjacent to Llanddwyn beach in North Wales. Always Aim High Events are immensely proud that Mark has chosen our event to help acheive his goal.
