Virtual Events Terms and Conditions
TERMS & CONDITIONS
ASSUMPTION OF RISK
The activity for which you are registering (the “Event”) may be physically challenging and may pose a risk of discomfort, illness, injury, and even death. You need to be satisfied that you are physically capable of doing the Event without undue risk to your health or your life. We do not conduct health or fitness checks on entrants.
The Event may involve inherent risks and dangers to participants and observers and, accordingly, you participate or observe at your own risk. Remember to inform someone of where you are going and to check in with them on your return; to carry an ICE (in case of emergency) card with their details; or advice on any other appropriate arrangements they should make pertaining to any medical conditions etc.
Before starting ensure all environmental conditions are appropriate for the activity you are about to do and remember to follow all relevant guidance from the government, police and our sport – particularly in relation to out-of-home exercise and social distancing. Participants must consider the time of day and weather conditions that they exercise carefully select their route, and apply social distancing to stay clear/give priority to pedestrians and people using public spaces.
In consideration of the acceptance of this entry, I assume full and complete responsibility for any injury or accident which may occur while I am travelling to or from the event, during the event, or while I am on the premises of the event.
I also am aware of and assume all risks associated with participating in this event, including but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, effect of weather, traffic, and conditions of the route. I, for myself and my heirs and executors, hereby waive, release and forever discharge the event organisers, marshals, sponsors, promoters, and each of their agents, representatives, successors and assigns, and all other persons associated with the event, for all my liabilities, claims, actions, or damages that I may have against them arising out of or in any way connected with my participation in this event. I understand that this includes any claims, whether caused by negligence, the action or inaction of any of the above parties, or otherwise.
I hereby grant full permission to any and all of the above parties to use any photographs, videotapes, motion pictures, website images, recordings or any other record of this event.
Children under 18
By entering the event online, agreeing to the parental consent at point of entry, and paying in advance, parental/guardian permission is assumed.
All sports are, by their nature, unpredictable, and therefore inherently involve an element of risk.
By allowing my child to participate in the Event, I, the parent/guardian of the child mentioned above agree and acknowledge that:
- I am aware of the inherent element of risk involved in the event undertaken and accept responsibility for exposing my child to such inherent risks;
- I have satisfied myself that my child has the necessary skill and knowledge to take part in the event and to deal with conditions that may arise in the course of a race;
- I will not allow my child to participate in an event whilst under the undue influence of alcohol, drugs or whilst otherwise unfit to participate;
- I accept responsibility for any injury, damage or loss to the extent caused by my own actions or omissions or actions or omissions of my child;
- I will be responsible for my child throughout the event and during the time that they are competing.
- I understand that children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian throughout the whole duration of the event.
- I hereby grant full permission to any and all of the above parties to use any photographs, videotapes, motion pictures, website images, recordings or any other record of my child at the event.
REFUNDS, TRANSFERS AND AMENDMENTS
You are eligible for a full refund (minus a £10.00 admin fee and the online booking fee) within the 48hr cooling off period from the day of booking. The cooling off period does not apply where a booking is made within 48hr of the event date. Due to the nature of sporting events we are unable to make exceptions for injuries, pregnancy, illness, or other mitigating circumstances.
Transfers
We offer two generous transfer options;
Option 1: Transfers to another competitor
You may transfer or sell your place to another person wishing to take part in the event. This must be done at least 10 days prior to the event. You are responsible for updating the personal information which can be accessed via the details provided in the confirmation email you received upon entering the event. You do not need to inform us of these changes, however the personal details on the entry must be updated.

Option 2: Transferring to another event
You may transfer your entry to another Always Aim High Event taking place within the same calendar year. This must be done at least 10 days prior to the event taking place.
Entries can only be transferred once.
If the original entered event does not cover the cost of the event you are transferring to you will be responsible for paying the difference.
If the event costs less than the original event you will not be subject to a refund for this amount.

CANCELLATION AND POSTPONEMENT POLICY
In the event of a technical failure of the TDL app for the Enhanced Virtual Events, the event will be rescheduled with the option of a refund if the rearranged dates are not suitable. App failure due to using a phone which does not meet the minimum technical specifications detailed will not be grounds for a refund.
In the case of the Virtual Challenge Events, you are responsible for sending in your evidence of completion by the advertised date. Failure to do so may result in you not receiving your slate coaster.

MINIMUM TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR ENHANCED VIRTUAL EVENTS
All phones must use iOS 13 or Android 8 or a more recent operating system. Failure to meet this minimum technical specification may lead to be less reliability running the tracking app and may impair the user experience. No refunds will be offered if this prevents the participant taking part.
Battery usage varies from phone to phone. AAHE will not be held responsible for any failure in battery life through the use of the tracking app. We strongly advise everyone to take part with a battery/power pack.
AAHE will not be held responsible for any impairment of event participation due to phone battery life being insufficient to complete the course.
