Always Aim High Events bring Bala Triathlon into their award-winning event portfolio

North Wales’s leading sports events company Always Aim High Events have recently announced that they will be hosting the 2024 Bala Triathlon. Known for their impeccable event delivery within the triathlon industry there is no question that the event will be in safe hands.

The previous organiser has now gone into liquidation, providing the opportunity for local award-winning organisers Always Aim High to step in. The local Bala and national triathlon communities are keen to ensure this longstanding event has a long and healthy future.

Rhys Davies from the Bala cycling club who have assisted with this event for many years said “We are delighted to have found a new partner with a shared commitment to community engagement, and look forward to working with Always Aim High to secure Bala Triathlon’s position as one of the best Triathlon events in the UK. Always Aim High Events are one of the few remaining independent sports events businesses in Wales. They already run some of the finest award winning Triathlon’s in the UK including their iconic Slateman, Snowman and Sandman events as well as Wales’s capital city Cardiff Triathlon. The company also successfully host many running and cycle events which all showcase the beautiful locations and communities of Wales.

Managing Director & Co- founder of Always Aim High Events Tim Lloyd had this to say “Bala is a beautiful town and the Bala triathlon is one of the best established events on the calendar. We are honoured to step in as a local organiser and share the vision to return the Bala Triathlon to its’ former glory as one of the best respected races in the UK”.

The event will take place over the weekend of 31st August & 1st September 2024 and is hoping to attract over 2000 participants and spectators with a Sprint as well as a Standard distance available. A Welsh Triathlon club championship will also be added to the weekend, where clubs can battle it out to be crowned the Welsh Club Champions. Always Aim High also hope to reintroduce junior and youth racing, making it an all-inclusive triathlon weekend.

Catherine Roberts CEO at Welsh Triathlon has been supporting Always Aim High Events with the takeover and added “We are delighted and thankful that Always Aim High have agreed to work with the Bala community to ensure that this event is not lost from the calendar of amazing triathlon events in Wales.

The inclusion of a Welsh Triathlon club championship has been at the request of many clubs and will be a great opportunity for those new to the sport and hardened racers. The course will follow suit from previous years with athletes swimming in Llyn Tegid, before heading out along a stunning closed-road bike route, culminating in a fast road run section that finishes back in the town.
