ENTRIES OPEN FOR SNOWMAN 2018!

Entries are now open for one of the toughest races in the country - the Snowman Triathlon.

The Snowman, which will take place on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th August 2018, consists of a variety of distances; Sprint, Classic, Savage and the mighty half iron Legend 71.6.

Nestled in the heart of Snowdonia National Park at Plas y Brenin Mountain Sports Centre, the Snowman is genuinely a race like no other. Saturday’s shorter distance events are the perfect warm up races for the long distance endurance races of Sunday’s Classic, Legend 71.6 and the concluding Snowman Savage.

Competitors in the Snowman Legend 71.6 in 2017 hailed it as one of the toughest half iron races around, some even labelling it harder than any other full long distance race in the country. Made up of a 1,900 metre swim in Llynnau Mymbyr, an epic and seriously hilly 91km cycle through the national park and culminating in one of the toughest 21km trail/fell run legs available anywhere (we’ve thrown in the 3,000ft Moel Siabod at the end of it) - this one is for the most experienced triathletes only!

An exciting new addition for 2018 will be the Snowman Duathlon. Taking place on the Saturday, the race is perfect for competitors who want to experience the electric Snowman atmosphere, but don’t fancy a swim in Llynnau Mymbyr. The duathlon is made up of a 2.4km and 5km trail run, sandwiching a 31km road cycle.

The Snowman Swim will also return after a successful debut in 2017. As before, two distances are on offer, a 1 mile or half-mile swim in the same stunning lake as the Snowman Triathlon swim leg.
Entries for the Snowman Triathlon are strictly limited due to the area the race takes place in. Just 300 spaces are available for the Sprint, with a further 300 between the Classic and Legend 71.6 - entering early is advisable. Early bird discounts are available across all triathlon distances for the first 100 entries.
