SIX REASONS TO ENTER THE CARDIFF TRIATHLON 2016

The Cardiff Triathlon should already be on your triathlon checklist. But if, for some reason it isn’t, then these six reasons should help make your mind up...

COMPLETELY CLOSED ROADS

The Cardiff Triathlon 2016 is a completely closed road event, meaning you can experience Cardiff Bay in a totally unique way while cycling and running!

ICONIC BACKDROPS

Crossing the finish line, surrounded by thousands of spectators and filmed by a TV crew, with the iconic buildings of the Millennium Centre and the Senedd amongst others must surely be something to tick off the bucket list?

IT’S FILMED FOR A WORLDWIDE AUDIENCE

Get a taste of the Olympic lifestyle! The triathlon is filmed by a professional crew across the weekend, with the race footage being shown around the world, both on television and on demand (we’ll let you how to watch it).

SWIM IN THE FAMOUS CARDIFF BAY

There aren’t many people out there who can claim to have been able to swim in the iconic Cardiff Bay (without being removed by the RNLI).

FOLLOW IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF A RUGBY LEGEND

Ex-Wales international and Ospreys legend, Shane Williams is taking part in the Cardiff Triathlon this year to raise money for the South Wales cancer charity Velindre. He’ll be put into one our triathlon waves on the weekend, so you COULD be racing alongside him!

(Shane Williams is also our official race starter).

FLAT - MAKES FOR A FAST COURSE

Being a triathlon in the heart of Cardiff Bay, the course is naturally very flat. This means the racing will be very fast. We’re expecting a lot of personal records to be broken over the weekend!

And finally… we’re renowned for putting on great events, so whether you’re taking part or coming down to soak up the atmosphere, we promise you will not be disappointed!
